Best Tennis Racquets - Recommendations Based on Your Style of Play

Are you looking for the best tennis racquet for your game? Do you have a headache from studying all of the options out there, but still don't know which racquet to buy? Well, here are some options that can make your choices much easier.

Determining which racquet is right for you really depends on your style of play. If you are an aggressive baseline player, you're going to want to go with a racquet with good access to power. If you like attacking the net, you need to concern yourself with finding a racquet with more control on those volleys and slice approaches. If you are an all-courter, then you are going to want a combination of both.

Obviously, it would be great if there were several (ok, just one or two) racquet choices out there that delivered both power and control in equal measure. When you find one, let me know.

Power and control do not cancel each other out, but I have found that tennis racquets always lean more toward one or the other. One racquet may add great pop to your groundstrokes, but try hitting a touch volley with it (it can be done, eventually!). Conversely, a racquet that gives you great touch at the net usually takes a much more precise swing to generate the power you'd like from the back of the court.

Below are my recommendations for each of the above mentioned categories: baseliners, all-courters, and net rushers. These recommendations are based on what I have myself have found to be true, as well as what the pro's are currently using for their respective styles of play.

1. My first choice for baseliners looking for more power: Babolat Pure Drive Team. This racquet has great access to power and spin, as well as a large sweet spot. It will serve you well from the back of the court.
2. My first choice for all-courters: Dunlop M-Fil 300. This racquet provides an excellent blend of power and control from all parts of the court.
3. My first choice for the net rusher or the doubles specialist: Wilson nCode nSix-One 95. This series of racquets has the most control of any I have ever used, and is my personal favorite.
